Business Start -Up Skills Training & Mentoring

Free training on how to start and run a successful business.

Ever had a dream of starting your own business?

My Start-Up Enterprise’ project aims to   provide essential business skills training and mentoring support to anyone wishing to start up a business. Working with a professional trainer and business mentor we will help you to develop the necessary skills and confidence to enter into self-employment.

The programme will consists of  12 half day session every Wednesday starting at 10:00 am May to July 2016 and the next 12 weeks session will run from August to October 2016.  A one to one mentoring service on Saturday is also available ( by appointment only).

The training programme is designed for adult learners aged 18 and over . The programme is open to both men and women with a preference  to support those who are experiencing barriers in finding employment or are economically inactive.We are aiming to deliver the training to as many people as possible.

The training and mentoring support focuses on

  • How to find a Business idea
  • How to write a simple Business Plan
  • How to do Marketing & Selling
  • How to obtain Business finance
  • How to keep Business records
  • How to choose Business structure

Workshop – Healthy Eating & Food Choices: Who we are, What we eat.

Project Active Generations (Funder NHS/PDF)

Project Active Generations is an opportunity for individuals and families from different communities to combine their cultural beliefs about food choices in everyday life through workshops that include food photography, interactive participations, creative story telling, visual arts.

Key aims of the workshops

  • Why is healthy eating important? How to make healthier food choices?
  •  Bringing together different communities to share food cultural beliefs and food choices in daily life.
  • Developing culturally sensitive nutritional knowledge for effective health promotion.

  • Interactive and  participatory approach.

  • Through photographs and interactive conversations people will become more conscious about healthy food habits and food choices.
  • Free workshops of maximum 1 hour, venue hire costs will be paid on an hourly rates.

  • Community groups, statutory agencies and business/corporate bodies  interested in healthier food choices.
  • For men and women of all ages from all communities

The programme is designed for adult learners, preferable unemployed and actively seeking a job opportunity.

Training Dates: September 2014 to February 2015 ( Training & mentoring-Business start-up)

When

  • Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays, 2 hour sessions 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Adult learners (Women), preferably unemployed and actively seeking a job opportunity.
